Port of Muskegon

Muskegon Lake is the largest natural deep-water port in West Michigan. The Port of Muskegon handles over 1 million tons of freight, aggregate, coal and salt every year. West Michigan Dock and Market Corporation (The Mart Dock) was established in 1933 as a deep water port for domestic and foreign flagged vessels to deliver and export goods to West Michigan and beyond. The Mart Dock currently has approximately 167,000 square feet of indoor storage space with about 111,000 square feet being heated. Over nine acres of outside storage for staging of cargo and bulk commodities, more than 2500 linear feet of steel sheet pile sea wall with an average draft of 26 feet for large vessel capability and multiple semi-truck docks as well as rail service on sight.

The Verplank Docks include the Canonie Dock and the Greenfield Terminal. The Canonie Dock has 1,000 feet of steel piled dock frontage with 18 acres of lay down space. The Greenfield Terminal has 50+ acres of undeveloped waterfront property available for water dependent manufacturing opportunity.
